A cool free alternative to purchased photo editors
1 No download is needed, you can do it all online. They also offer a "Light" version but it does require a download.

Anyone care to give a general how to with this program? I'd love to learn to erase the background and did a bunch of googling, but as of right now haven't found anything that is helping me. Will keep looking unless someone here can help!

I haven't played with the program much at all but there is a lasso tool in there that will allow you to select portions of the pic for removal. If you do a google on Fauxto you will probably get more results. Apparently the name was changed from Fauxto to SplashUp.

I did find the lasso tool, but didn't know what to do after that, I was able to make my item dissappear, but not the background LOL! I assume it has to do with the layers after reading some tutes for other programs. But I just couldn't figure it out. I will try Googling the other name! Thanks!!!

If your item was deleted instead of the background all you need to do it find the "invert selection" option before you delete. That will select anything that was not selected in the first place... that's what I usually use anyway when I delete a background.
Another option (not sure if this online program has it, but most do) is to use the magic wand option. The trick with that is you need to shoot your item on a high contrast color (like bright green paper... like a green screen) and get the lighting very even, so try to eliminate shadows and such... if you get your lighting correct it would take one click of the magic wand to select all the green and delete.

oh thank you for the tip about the invert selection! That might be what I need to do! I didn't see any magic wand tool in this program.
