Here's my dilemma...

I started making sculptured clippies and really enjoyed that. I then wanted to start making bows, especially the twisted boutique. I purchased the templates from no bow no go, and I have learned to do everything BUT the twisted. I'm really disappointed. Not sure if its my creasing or what.

So my question is... Should I get the gator bite to help with the creasing on the twisted? Would it help?

It certainly would not hurt. I have been playing with those templates as well and am not happy with the way she stitches and then wraps the thread around. The ribbon at either the top or the bottom, it depends on where I start to stitch just flips funny. I have been stiching though and then pulling off the templates and using my gator bite to crease. I have also been using dental floss to tie off and I am getting my creases more and not quite as bulky if that makes sense. If I think about it later today or tomorrow, I will do one her way and then the gator bite way and take pictures and show you the difference.

You are awesome! Thank you.

My twisted ones get floppy too. Her's look inverted and all pretty. Not mine!

I too am comtemplating buying the gator bite, but wasn't sure if it was worth it. I have bought the templates and really don't use them because of the securing and taking off the template. It just doesn't work right for me. Maybe the gator bite is the answer, I've been using the Sally's clips but they don't seem to secure the ribbon well enough to get it ready to sew.

I have been making bows for a few years now, but was only making them for friends and family... I lived where there was dial up so never used the net. just NOW finding out there are templates for these things... I have been using gator bites for ever now. wonder if templates would save a lot of marking and such

The Gator Bite is an awesome tool to use. I have a lot of purchased templates, but use the NBNG ones more than any of the others. Only because I am more familiar with them. The TBB is one of the hardest bows to make, the good Lord above knows I have tried and tried but still cannot get it. I make a lot of pinwheel bows and tails out bows from Devons instructions, but insist on using my gator bite to do my creasing. I still stitch up the center, pull off of the template and use the gator bite to crease. I have also been using 3/8 organza ribbon to tie off., You can use 1/4 in instead. Once you put your center knot on you really can't see the ribbon. If you make bitty bows at all, your gator bite is perfect for those. The mouth part is open, unlike the Sally's clip, which allows you to tie it off and slip the bow out with no problems. Also, unlike the Sally's clip, Shelley from lookatmebaby.com, has a lifetime guarentee on all of her products. If your gator bite does not work, or it breaks, she will replace it for free. You just have to send her an email, ship the broken one back and she will return a new one. You can't ask for better customer service than that
