Those are so cute. I am winding ribbon now for baking so will have to add some fun colours to make one of these.

Just when I thought I was done with korkers, I had to find this link! I never would have thought to drill a hole in the korker - I would have GLUED, GLUED, GLUED!

Alright so I just tried this tut b/c I made a tutu and thought a wand to go with would just set the whole thing off... I must have done something wrong b/c my wand topper came out super flat. Theirs is all nice and puffy. It was either - not enough korkers (I used 20 - 6" korkers and threw in some reg. ribbon like they did in the photo) - or- my korkers weren't fat enough. I don't know if I'll give it another go or not. It really is cute, but it takes A LOT of ribbon and apparently I still didn't use enough. Anyone else give this one a try?:confused1:
One last thing, couldn't get the thing to stay on top of the wand rod with the wire, it kept flopping over! ugh! Maybe I just wasn't meant to made this cute wand??:banghead:

I have no idea on how to help you. I loathe making korkers. I am going to try using a korker box and see if that helps me.

Cute I might have to use this idea for my DD. She loves wands. I will have to modify it to the wand sticks from Halo heaven though. If I figure it out I will post how I did it.
As for the korker being flat if could be that you didnt use enough korker or it was too long or the center wasnt pulled tight enough or they used a photo effect to get it poofy.

I did try some hot glue to hold it in place on the dowel, which really didn't help much. I just ended up pulling the korkers off the top anyway and turning it into a really cute hair bow with white maraboa underneath and that actually turned out super cute. Maybe the error turned into a lovely mishap?

I tried this tut too and it didn't turn out very good at all. I tried again and doubled the amount of korkers and instead of the wire I just attached it to the top of the dowel with hot glue. I would also recommend sewing the korkers instead of tying them, everytime I tie a korker it comes apart after some time.

I actually used enough ribbon for 2 larger korkers, and i didnt do the wire thing. I hot glued it to the top of the dowel. I was afraid of the wire coming apart and hurting a child. Plus the way they have it on there in the tut the tip of the dowel is sticking out. Another hazard for a child. I also wrapped and spot glued the dowel w/ ribbon. My daughter loves it. I cant figure out how to upload pics from my computer, so sorry for no example. But, it came out really cute.
