I don't know if this post really goes here or not..but, anyway...Our neighborhood had a community sale today so I decided to put in some of my hair bows just to see how they would do. I priced them at what I would like to have gotten out of them. I just made different sizes of boutique style bows and some pumpkin ribbon sculptures...well, I ended up selling $47 worth of hair bows!! I know that isn't a huge amount, but I didn't expect really to sell any of them at all. I even had a lady request me to make a nylon headband while she waited. Unfortunately my dad was watching the sale most of the day and didn't think to give my info out to anyone, so who knows if I will ever have this luck again, but it is a great start in my opinion!! Just excited and wanted to share!!

Good deal! I'll bet it felt amazing when you didn't expect to sell anything and sold $47. That is a good start. If you do it again, be sure that dad gives out your info.

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting some business cards made up with my contact info on them so if anyone ask about my hair bows I can just whip out my card and say "call me!!". And yes, it felt great..makes me think I really can do this!

AWESOME! I actually had the same experience. Our town has 2 city yard sales a year and this past spring I thought, "I'll just put a few out and see." I made around $50 too!! For yard salers, I'd say that's pretty good since most people are looking for bargains and not wanting to pay for quality boutique items. See, never hurts to try!

I had thought about doing that for my yardsale, but I didn't have enough stock to take things out. That's great though, at least people will be wearing your items around town! Next time, get some business cards out so they can at least snatch one up and maybe have a sign letting them know you do custom orders? Either way, that's a great way to get yourself out there!
