signed up for my first craft show...

Well, it's just a small Christmas Bazaar, but a start right? Well, I have been trying to figure ways to display very cheaply, but professional looking...

I bought a styrofoam head at Sally's for less than $4..it is just plain white, nothing special, I'm going to use it to display my nylon headbands on. My question is..do you think it would be weird if I painted the head a color..say pink or green or something like that?? to make the headband and bow show up better?? Or should I just leave it plain white and use a black headband on it?? I just don't want to mess it up..lol.

One other question..how much inventory do you think I should take?? It's a small town so probably not a huge crowd. As of right now I make the twisted boutique bows, pinwheel bows, spikey bows, and some ribbon sculptures and nylon headbands. I don't want to take too much and def not too little.

I think a pink head would look cute but I also don't have a problem with it remaining white. I probably wouldn't paint it black though. I can't help you with the amount of inventory to take and all. Sorry

I'd say leave the head white, if you choose a color you are limited by the colors you can use as far as headbands and bows. White goes with everything!

Inventory depends on your display. I'd say, whatever display you go with - make enough to fill it twice. You probably won't sell through it all, but you also don't want an empty looking display when things start to sell. Back up is always good.

OOOOhhh great advice. I never thought about being limited on colors..I'm so glad I asked! I really do appreciate your input! I've been working on hair bows like crazy hoping to be ready when November gets here!
