I did yet another show at a mall this past weekend. We had a GREAT location, right by Gymboree, the playground, toy store, and candy store and just down from the food court.

Here's some pics of my stand:

Now I'll take you on a tour around my booth-
There were the solid color bows. Sold out of most of the Large and small bows and sold about half of my bow tie style bows. I also had my newsletter sign up sheet here.

This idea was my moms. I bought clear plastic ornaments and put little bows in them and hung them from this pink Christmas tree with a To and From tag with my store name on them. I didn't sell a one, but some many people LOVED them. Maybe just too early for Christmas gift shopping?? Not sure. I also made winter hats and gloves and sold all three that are in this photo and 1 set of the gloves.

These were my latest creations - toggle headbands. I did sell maybe 10 of them. The other side of the spinner rack had bow/clip holders, those did good as well.

This corner had the baby bibs a friend of mine made, only sold one of those and the baby wipe cases. I could NOT believe I didn't sell any wipe cases! Last show I did at this mall I pretty well sold out. Again a lot of interested people though.

This was the "baby area." Sold all but one infant hat and sold quite a few pacifier clips.

This was my latest trial error kind of display idea - the grid panels. I think they worked out pretty good! I put all my larger boutique and loopy bows on it. Probably sold at least half of those, and that's a lot. I had snap clips, korkers, insect clips, and ribbon flower clips in the baskets in front. I also hung the princess tiaras on the grid panels to the very right. Sold a few of those too.

I also used those grid panels and build this tutu stand - I only sold one tutu, but that's okay b/c those were all my sample tutus anyway that my daughter had worn for photo shoots. I sold them at a lesser price then if they would have been custom made to order ($19-$20 each).

This was the hat/headband/flower area. I sold A LOT of headbands and A LOT of flowers. I sold probably half my hats as well. VERY popular.

I also hung a couple of these tutu bow holders from the back of my stand and did sell one (not this particular one).

It was a long weekend, but we did pretty good. I actually had one customer come back the 2nd day because she went home and wished she'd had bought this or that. Lots of nice comments and cute kids.

That was a good location. Your display/setup looks great, thanks for the tour. And I love your moms idea of the Christmas tree with the bows in the clear balls, cute idea.

Shannon, I absolutely love how you display everything! That was a great idea that your Mom had with the clear ornaments! Thank you for sharing pictures of your display. I have never done anything like this (craft show, mall display...etc) but when I grow up, I wanna be just like you!

I am truly inspired by you. Very nice set up and I think this is encouraging me to sign up for a larger show in just 1 1/2 months! Congratulations.

Thanks Barabra! You are so funny! :smilielol5:

I honestly took a leap of faith and signed up for a $300 show at this mall back in September when Missouri had their no-tax back to school 3 day weekend. They expected 125,000 people to go through this mall that weekend and I just went for it.

I'd NEVER done a show that cost more then $40 before that so this was a huge leap for me. That show I took in $1200 and have been hooked on doing these malls since. This show I took in under $900, but it was a 2 day show compared to a 3 day show and it was Sat. Sun. and Sunday's just are crappy sales days for everyone. Saturday's are fabulous. I wish they'd do Friday/Saturday and sales would have been much better. But I still can't complain. It has been worth the time and effort.

I've been told over and over that my prices are so reasonable. I don't want to turn into one of those over priced boutiques. I'm a mom that wants nice things for my little girl at reasonable prices and therefore pass that theory for my prices onto my customers. If I did sell things at higher prices I'd probably pull in a lot more. But I'm happy with the way things are going.

I think you have a sound business practice and people will appreciate your reasonable prices. You are making good profit and you feel good about your pricing. Very respectable.

I bag my kufi hats and hang them on hooks. I do set a few out decorated and have a foam head to show how they look.
