I went to Hobby Lobby looking for Christmas - whatever - anything that gave me inspiration for some bows/clips/tutus for the holidays. I came across their mini Christmas tree supplies (which were all 40% OFF!) and thought - those ornaments would be PERFECT for bow centers. I bought about a ton...

50 centers in all to be exact. But I spent under $10 on ALL OF THESE! That's about 20 cents or less a piece compared to the 60 cents a piece at TRR.

I used the felt hats for hair clips

And they really are too cute for bow centers! This is officially my very first Christmas bow for the 2009 Holiday season... how many will I end up making? Probably a TON!

I'm sure any place that sells these mini little Christmas trees has these ornaments too. That's my tip for the day :girly:

I wish there was a Hobby Lobby near by. But I use the same thing for centers on my Christmas bows. I usually get my ornaments from Walmart.

How cute, Shannon! I got those exact same Santa hats a couple of years ago and used them on clips too!

Well I was going to go online and order appliques from China when I thought, these local craft stores have go to have SOMETHING I could use without having to pay for shipping and wait weeks for them to arrive. So far I've been lucky in finding things that will work. The best part about that too is, if they are popular and I sell though them I can go back to the store and just buy more instead of having to order more. I sold quite a few Christmas items at my show this past weekend too. People are thinking Christmas already! I've already made a custom bow for a Chirstmas dress already too.
All this Christmas and I've barely gotten my daughter's Halloween costume together yet!

Great idea and they look darling! I've actually got some miniatures that I bought a couple years ago intending to decorate a miniature tree. Yeah, well, that never happened. So guess what they'll be used for???

I went to Hobby Lobby, too, Friday night....I was a Hobby Lobby virgin! Had to travel a bit of a distance but I wanted to see it. Hubby was out doing his thing so I treated myself. All I can say is WOW:3:. They've got a lot of stuff there. I did get some of the felt Santa hats (cute, cute, cute) and a ton of other stuff. Spent way too much but it was fun. I think it's a bit more expensive than Michael's or JoAnn's, at least the one I went to is but I'd go again. Just soooo much stuff there!

Glad you are no longer a Hobby Lobby "virgin", lol! You can no longer wear white while crafting.

Too funny!
I love hobby lobby and I'm so glad I have 3 different ones to choose from depending on which direction I go in. My mom also is a respiratory therapist and does home health care so if I need something and she's out by a HL she usually will stop and grab what I need. She's saved me a couple of times now. I feel like I live there and at Michael's - our Joann's is kind of a drive though.
