My partner and I have the opportunity to have a set up in the mall (tables, grids, etc) Black Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for $500. It's a really busy mall.

My question is, would you do this? The last craft fair we did together we did fairly well for one day with the weather, $500, from 9-5.

I actually have a similar opportunity and wondering the same thing. I've done 2 shows at this mall now and made between $900-$1200 at each one. This show will be a $350 vendor fee for me (no tables/chairs provided). I'm wondering if people will be going to the mall on Black Friday though??? I'd be going to toys r us, best buy, walmart... I don't think I'd be going to a mall. What are other people's thoughts?

Our mall is VERY busy in Black Friday. It is the place to be! The amount of people there is crazy.

Our mall (in the US) is ALWAYS packed on black friday! All of the mall anchors have super deep discounts and the smaller stores have sales too. It is insane a l l -- d a y -- l o n g !!!!!!

I stay away from our mall on Black Friday because it is crazy and I can never find what I want. LOL!

Soooo, would you do it for the fee?

I probably would but that is based on whether or not I think I would have enough customers to at a minimum cover the fee and make a modest profit at MY mall. How big is your mall and what are the average shoppers like. (Big spenders, thrifty, tightwads, deal seekers, etc.).

Well I'm glad to hear that malls do draw a big crowd on Black Friday. I will be in a store along with other vendors though too. Not in the corridors of the mall... which makes me nervous. This mall is BUSY any weekend, I couldn't imagine Black Friday. To me the $350 fee for a 3 day show isn't bad - I'd have to think a little if the fee was $500. Make sure you get a GOOD LOCATION if you are paying that much. I've heard of other malls/promo groups charging closer to $700 though, so I guess it could be worse. Just make sure you have A LOT of inventory #1) for a 3 day show and #2)for it being during the busiest shopping day of the year.

When I sold $1200+ my last 3 day show I figured up I had around $3,400 worth of merchandise.

People around here splurge from what I can see. Our mall isn't huge like in a big city, but we get a ton of people in for black Friday. We have the only mall around for 2 1/2 hours. The man I spoke to yesterday gave me an approximate number of people in during the holiday shopping season, but I can't remember what it was. It was huge though. We are surrounded with Indian reservations and they all come here to shop.

I am not worried about inventory, yet. LOL! I have a ton of stuff as does my partner. I need to get MORE done, which I am working on daily anyway.

Thanks for the input ladies!

Best of luck with your show! I hope there are a TON of people. The 3-day show I did at their back to school event this past August (I think Aug) they predicated 125,000 people!!!!! The more the marrier for us!
