This is a cute idea to use old ties-

and another ribbon flower from the same blog

Your welcome, I love looking at all the ideas on different blogs too, problem is I think I look too much and make too little!

OOOOOOOOooooo............... Tie Headbands!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fabulous idea!! I've been wanting to make these types of different things that not everyone has to take to my shows. (tired of seeing Halo Heaven bought everthing, flowers, tutus, headbands..., NOT handmade items at CRAFT shows) I also saw zipper flowers somewhere. These two things would go hand in hand. You started something now!

I like the different ideas too, not haveing the same thing as everyone else has. I like see handmade items at craft shows, not the already made things, that's what makes it unique. I think I have the zipper flower instructions somewhere if you want me to look for it, let me know.

I saw some zipper flower instructions on Martha Stewart, but those flowers kind of look sad. I've seen some neat ones on TV (a local lady made some). I'd be interested in seeing the instructions you have though if you are willing to share.

You probably have to play with it a little, the teeth probably make it a little difficult, maybe you could fold the zipper like you would ribbon for flowers. Hopefully one of the tuts will work.

There are some beautiful ones for inspiration here

Thanks for sharing!! Did you see the price on the last link!?!? $85!? In my dreams could I sell my stuff for that much. I also think it's kind of cute how they left the pull on there.

I will be making these at some point. Thanks again for putting all those link together for us!!

You're welcome, I saw that price, and had the same thoughts, amazing how someone would pay that much! I plan on tying them too, just not sure when.

Those are cute. I too love looking at all the wonderful ideas but need to learn to spend less time looking and more time doing.

I told my mother about the tie headbands the other night and she showed up with 3 ties for me today!! I've got to run to wal-mart to get elastic to make them, but I'm excited! I might stop by the thrift store while I'm over that way too, maybe they will have a few more.

That was nice of your mom, the thrift store is a good idea. I love that excited feeling when you start something new. Good luck, I'm sure they'll turn out cute!
