I have just been asked to participate in the spring festival @ my daughters elem. school. The table fee is 25$and is one night from 5-9pm in May, so I think it is a great investment just to at the very least get my name out there, but i have no idea how much of what to bring with me, as up until now, everything I have done is by request.

I figured I would make hair bows, a few bow holders, a few bow bouquets, some flip flops, and a few pillowcase dresses.

What colors are best? Popular?
What sells good? or should I have more of?

Never done anything like this before...but I am very excited!
Just looking for some advice to help point me in the right direction

I did a show at a fall fest once, was right in front of the parade route near the food... got traffic but no buyers. Might have been the crowd?? I shared a tent - so it was only half a tent I had to fill. I didn't really take much except simple solid color bows, school color bows, and holiday clips/bows. I wouldn't go crazy since it's more in the evening and only for one night. I'd stick to the basics.

I do the flip flops as well, I am just clueless as to how many and what sizes to do. Same for the pillowcsae dresses.

I have never made crayon puches.....might give it a whirl.

Thanks for the input!

That is in my mind of not going overboard.
But every event we go to up at the school is jam packed, wall to wall, from reading night to fall fest to pj night.....I can only immagine the spring festival will be equally as big.
Thus giving me the fear of not enough!
Having never done this before....I just want to perpared....but am not sure as to how prepared to be:)

Best wishes, don't go overboard but be prepared. If you don't have it you can't sell it. Try to make sure your table isn't bare have extras under your table if possible.

Let us know how you make out! I've always wanted to build up enough stock to do a one day thing. My sister inlaw is willing to sell them for me at fairs ... so I really dont have to. I think she enjoys doing it and having my things helps her fill her space. Good luck and again .. let us know!!!

For the flip flop size I will said 3/4 5/6 are the best selling (not for me I don't do this but some friends do)

Pillowcase dress size 12 month to size 6...

thank you, for the size recomendations!
I was thinking the flip flops would be great in school spirit school colors with matching hair bows! that would limit me to making a lot of only one design. And I definately think that will help me stay on track and go too crazy on them.

The last Elementary School show that I did sold a LOT of toggle headbands & anything with either lady bugs, skulls, & Hello Kitty. And little girls can never resist anything with glitter, so I would keep that in mind, too. :D

How exciting! Good luck!!!

I would have lots of pink and purple! Little girls seem to love those colors! Every time there is a show here all the vendors are out of everything pink and purple. I would also keep one of everything that sells out just for display and you can always take orders.

At my last show the bow holders sold really well after I put a few clippies on them so that people knew what they were. The flowers, clippies, small 2" bows, and toggle headbands also sold well.

Hope this helps.
