I made a dozen of butterfly clippies for all the little girls in my DD preschool class. It was my gift to them. This month is bug month and we are going on a "Bug Hunt" next Monday for our field trip. Just wanted to share. These were so much fun to make. Much better than the korkers. :D

Cute! My dd's class is doing bugs this week. She went to school with a ladybug clip today. I know the little girls loved your bows!!!! What did you do for the boys?

VEry cute and very girlie!! They are fun to make too. Like BarbaraJeann mentioned .. "What about the boys?" You could put ladybugs and bumblebees on pins!! ?!! My grandson is always asking for bows ... I need to get busy and make some bugs for him. He loved the Halloween spider!!

I wasn't sure what to do for the boys so the teacher said she had some big plastic bugs to give to the boys. I didnt think of a pin plus they are 3 and 4 years old. :( I talked with the teacher first before making the butterflies for the girls. I surely didnt mean to leave out the boys. Theres only 4 boys in the class. 9 girls. If there are any other ideas for boys, please share. I dont have a boy so Im totally clueless.

That was a really sweet idea. You are making memories that you and your daughter will have forever. I had 2 daughters. One passed away at 16 and the other lives 1400 miles away. The little things like this that you do will be really big memories when they are 25. I can only imagine what it will be when she is older.

Those are very cute. I love how simple they are, eye-catching without being overly decorated. And the pastel colors really suit the butterflies. I'm sure the class will go nuts over them.

Just an idea option to the pins, what about ,magnets? Likt the magnetic name tags the offices use for employees where you could glue the bug the outer magnet and attach it to their clothes with the inner magnet...dont know where to buy though...but seems like a great option for little ones who might get stuck by pins

What a wonderful thing you did! I know those little girls loved them!
My son loves the bug clippies (and most of the other ribbon sculptures too, lol), he just likes to play with them, so now whenever I make something new, I make the first one and give it to him w/o a clippie on it. He has a little box full of ribbon sculptures that he uses as toys! lol But, I hadn't thought about giving them out as class gifts! That is such a great idea! Also, they'd be good Halloween treat bag 'treats'. I always make up treat bags on Halloween to pass out to the kids who live in the neighborhood and the ones who come here to trick or treat every year. And your dd will remember that forever.
