I'm sure it's the same for everyone, Teacher Appreciation week is this week. I wanted to do something sort of handmade, but wouldn't take a lot of time b/c I don't have a lot of time.
I used my Silhouette to cut out vinyl monograms and just added them to glass vases I got from the $1 store! I bought a bunch of tulips from Costco for $9 and split the bunch in half. Their school colors are purple and gold so I bought purple tuplips and added a little bit of gold ribbon around the top of the vase. I really hope they like them! (taking there to the school in a bit)

Very nice. I'm glad you posted this because I forgot (and I already have stuff made up for them, lol).

Glad I could help!! What did you make for your kids' teacher? I've been thinking about this for awhile now, but it was just the getting around to making it and shopping for the stuff that is the hardest part. When I walked into the classroom with the flowers this afternoon they were very surprised.

I made them key fobs with their names embroidered on them, a matching boutique bow pen, and I ordered note pads from vistaprint in a preschool theme that say "From the desk of Ms Lisa (and Ms Cindy)".

Great ideas!!!! Love the bow pens! Those would be cute to have at my shows for when people sign up for my newsletter!! What kind of embroidery machine do you have? Mine is really doing horrible. I've all but given up on it. From what I've heard, it was a machine pushed through the manf. process so that they could "beat out" another brand... making the thing have a ton of flaws. I'll use it for my daughter and gifts, but there's no way I'm selling stuff to be personalized with it b/c it's too up and down. I never know if it's going to work or not when I need it.

I have a Singer Futura ce250. I love it! I haven't had much time to play with while I was preparing for the craft show but now I am going to spend some time with Stella (yeah, I named it! LOL).

those are great ideas. We have teacher appreciation week this week as well. We had a luncheon at school yesterday and I made a side dish for it. I was going to bake something but now have strep throat (i think).
Barbara do you sell your key fobs online?

Yes, I do sell them. I have not uploaded any embroidered ones or new ones lately, though (such a slacker).

Maybe I just need to upgrade b/c I have a Singer ce100... thing drives me crazy. Your stuff is so pretty!!! My filler thread comes up onto of the fabric, the machine beeps at me constantly, says the thread broke and it's not... etc.
