I made the 80s Throwback Bow (for lack of a better description) for my daughter. She wore it to school today and now I have a bazillion people wanting to buy them. I have no idea how to even go about pricing them. Do any of you ladies make this type of bow? If so, do you mind sharing what you charge. If no one makes them, do you have an suggestions for pricing?

TIA!

Oh my gosh, that is so funny! The beads and all that bring back memories, lol! I think the 80's style really is popular now for younger girls. I always say my time is worth at least $10 an hour. If you can make 4 and hour, charge at least $2.50 for your time, plus your cost of supplies times 3.5 (for mark up). So let me break it down:
2.50 - time
1.00 - material (x 3.5 mark up) = $3.50
Total: $6.00

If the materials don't cost $1 and you can make 6 in an hour, obviously your retail price goes down. But that's just how I try to figure out prices. Sometimes I don't think that the price that comes out is high enough or even too high, so I adjust accordingly.

I HOPE THAT HELPS A LITTLE!! That's just how I do it, not sure how other's do it though. Someone else might have a better way. And I'd actually be interested to see how others figure out their prices.

OMG I wore those as a kid. I totally forgot about those till this minute....lol. Wow I even just now remember the outfit I used to wear with it...lol. You did a great job.... As far as my pricing, I just make something up,lol. A lot of my prices run the same, and I seem to forget about my time....

I'm not of any help with the price, but the clip is so cute, brings back memories!

Love you clip! I think Shannon has given a pretty good guideline for pricing.

I made several of these without the beads for a school, just the braided ribbon and charged $4/piece.

A definite Throwback ... I remember buying supplies for my girls and their friends back in the 80s, so they could make these to match their outfits of course!! cheerl

Thanks, Busy Bumblee Bee (sorry, don't know your real name), that is an awesome way to calculate price. VERY helpful.

I had what I thought was a cool idea tonight: Our school mascot is a Yellow Jacket. I made my lil girl another pair that are black and yellow. I'm about to order her some lil bee beads from Oriental Trading to go on the ends. Do ya'll know of another place that might have them a little more reasonably priced. I think the bee beads on the ends will be sooooo cute.

I'm glad others remember these. I wore them when I was in 3rd grade and LOVED them. I've been itching to make her some to match some of her 80s looking outfits.
