I have a big new birthday line I'm working on and have a few models lined up for a photo shoot in mid-July. I would like everyone’s opinion as far as backdrop of those photos. I'm on the fence. White background in a studio or on location somewhere outside?? I love the scenery, I LOVE architecture that is captured in the photos; however, is it necessary being that I'm trying to have people focus on my products?

I would say start with the white background and see how they turn out and what kind of response you have with those. The problem with the scenery is the weather, never know if its gonna rain or be 100 degrees... The kids would do better indoors w/ air!

Thanks ladies! i agree with the weather and the temps issue, but I'm also concerned with a studio because I know they are going to want to push us through to the next appointment. And I don't want to spend $500 on a photo shoot so I was thinking just Penney's. If it's a white backdrop, who cares if it's like perfect perfect. Still thinking on it...

I would definitely do outdoors. IMO they are so much more vibrant. It makes you want to buy the clothes in the photo in order to recreate that wonderful look. I like to see product "in action". It brings it alive for me and seems much less posed.

I was thinking outside at first, then inside second, but I called the studio and they said if I want to take up time I needed to schedule during "non-busy" time which means times that none of my models are available SO OUTSIDE IT IS! We have a beautiful botanical gardens that's HUGE and perfect. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate for us.
