UNC Bow

Ok, I took the plunge and made a boutique bow. Then, I felt adventurous and wanted to add spikes. Am I doing it right? Does it look "ok"? Still ain't too sure about the boutique ones. The right side looks bigger than the left in the picture, but it's not. My dd was holding it and wouldn't be still.

Thanks for the more spike suggestion. I'll try to go back and add some more. I think that would make it look better too. More full. Do I need to do them all the way around? or just sparingly? I'm sorry to ask so many questions, but this is a first for me.

I think it's all in what you want it to look like. I prefer a min of 5. You should fluff your loops out. Pictures can be deceiving but it looks like your creases may be a little off so the top loop isn't standing up. The sharp angle and the crease is what makes the loops stand up.

Great advice already given. I would definitely make sure the loops are even. You were correct in you initial assessment, the right side ones are bigger. I would not only go with more spikes but with wider spikes. The width of mine always determines the number I use.

Thanks, Ladies for all the suggestions. I am finally home from DS's dr. appt. in Asheville, so maybe I can apply all of them.
The bow is actually the same size on both sides, it's just the picture that makes the right side look bigger.
Hmmmm...wonder if I can find some wider ribbon that is UNC and striped? I got this ribbon at WM for $1.50 a roll. It has the UNC symbol and a ram on it. Really cute, IF you are a UNC fan.

You could just get a wider solid color instead of the UNC ribbon. You can layer the thin UNC ribbon on the solid ribbon.
