Sharing what I worked on today... been awhile

I haven't shared anything in awhile. Here is something I made for dd's surprise trip to Disney in two weeks.

Bows, matching appliqued and embellished tank, and boutique flops. She will wear this with some red shorts that I will probably applique a "Mickey" head onto.

Awesome job, BJ. Not sure what kind of rides you all will be going on, but be really careful with the flops. Most kiddos lose a flop on the rides. I have never tried to applique. Do you have an embroidery machine, or did you use a reg sewing machine? I would love to try this process on tops for Miss Emma

Thanks. I have an embroidery machine although I think the mouse head should be fairly easy to do on the sewing machine. (I did that before, prior to getting an embroidery machine).
Yeah, dd doesn't really do big rides, especially the ones you might lose a shoe on, lol. I am putting straps on the back, though, because she still doesn't walk as well in them as I think she should even at 5, lol.

So, we are back from our vacation! We had a great time. I got lots of comments on her outfit, especially her flip flops. "Minnie Mouse" kept pointing to them. Even she loved them, lol!

I just started with making the bow flops and I have been sewing them on by hand which takes a bit of time, so what do you do to keep them on? My bows are kinda thick and I was afraid to try anything but sewing to make sure that they def would not come off!

Thanks. I make the surrounds about 1 inch larger than the center bow and cinch the surrounds and center bow together independently of the bigger bow and sprays. Hope that makes sense.

I just use e6000 glue and so far haven't had a problem.
