What is the white stuff that is put on the inside of shirts to cover embroidery stitches called? It almost looks like cheese cloth, but i know that cant be it....lol It just irons in... ALSO... what is a good sewing machine or embroidery machine? Im looking for something, but dont know what exactly. Does an embroidery machine sew?

Not sure about the iron on tape. But my embroidery machine sews. I really dislike my embroidery machine, so don't get it - it's a Singer Futura like lowest model. It was a free so hey, can't complain. But it was a pain to change out the foot and convert the machine over to sewing so I still use my regular sewing machine for sewing and just pull out the Singer on the rare occasion I want to embroider something.

I have songer future CE-250 and i love very easy to use.

Busybumble no is a good idea use the same machine for sewing and embroidery you will take to much time change the sewing to embroidery-embroidery to sewing......Is better have 2 one for each work..

Are you talking about interfacing? They have some that can be ironed on. I think the kind you iron on is called fusible interfacing. It kind stabilizes things.
