This was a 2 day show at a new mall we've never been to before. This mall cost us $100 more AND was only 2 days. We've heard really good things and people said it was the "place to be." So we went for it.

I wouldn't say it was the best weekend and i wouldn't say it was the worst, just average. Being that it was only 2 days we did about average. Had we done a 3rd day we'd have brought in a lot more I think.

I honestly have never seen so many people come up to my book grab this and that and then put them back and walk off!!!! CRAZY!! So many family's with little girls and bows in their hair just kept on walking. I'd have customers walk up, start a converstation... I'd turn around for one second and they were gone! It was such a mixed crowd. Some thought my prices were low some thought they were high... one lady even asked if she bought this would I give her that free, HA! Don't think so!!!!

It was just an odd weekend. Maybe too there wasn't anything going on. No holiday's, no real reason for people to be out shopping, the weather was super nice. Would i do this mall again? Maybe... if it was the right weekend.

Our next show is and has been booked for a couple weeks now. It's August 6,7,8th. It's going to be HUGE. It's Missouri's tax free weekend for "back to school." Clothes, shoes, school supplies are all tax free for those 3 days only. The malls and stores will be PACKED. We did it last year on a leap of faith on my part and it totally paid off. This all before I accepted credit cards, had much inventory or experience doing shows. So I am praying this show goes really really great.

So with that said, I've only got 3 weeks to get a TON of inventory ready. But I'm first taking tomorrow off to recover from this weekend.

People are so interesting sometimes, and not always in a good way. I often wonder if people actually stop to think, "how would I feel if someone said that to me?" Maybe people would be happier (and better liked socially) it they did!

I'm glad it was an average show, rather than an under-average show! Good luck at the beginning of August! Enjoy your recuperation day!

We were at West County... I've heard of some people doing way better there, so not sure what was the problem. Chesterfield has been good for us, that's where we'll be in August

Its good to hear that the show was okay. But I wish you better luck with the next one, you will do better because a lot of little girls need hairbows for school.

That's what I'm hoping. I need to make a lot of white and navy stuff for the schools that have uniforms. I had a lot of requests for that last year, but didn't think to make anything like that.
