I finally got around to getting pictures of the lightbox.

The first two pictures are the lightbox and the lightbox lit up. My husband measured 2" from the edges on the top and three sides. I taped two sheets of tissue paper to the top and two outer edges. Then, I cut a piece of poster board and taped it inside. Next, I got 2 construction lights that go up to 150 watts. I'm not sure what wattage bulb came with the lights and there is supposed to be one over the top of the box too.

Here is the tutorial we loosely used -http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent (http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-make-a-inexpensive-light-tent)

The 3rd picture is a picture from the box and the 4th is the edited version. I need to find a way to mount one of the lights above the box because my picture did not come out as nicely as it should have.

First, I really like the colors you used for the korkers!

Second, I like your home crafted lightbox! I wonder if you put any of the undercounter type lights inside the box if you would have less editing to do. Just a thought!

I agree! I really like the color combo you used for your korkers. They are my nemisis. How many strips do you use for the korkers? Mine NEVER come out round and puff like yours. LOL

Here's the instructions I have for the lightbox. I do like how yours came out but I'm thinking that the instructions I have might have a better solution for the lighting. I just don't know if you'd have access to them there in Germany.

Here's the one I plan to use, if I can ever get to it!

I made this same type of box, but my pictures never came out that nice. I honestly think it was my error for not knowing how to photo edit the pictures very well. I broke down and bought a portable light box online. It's pretty much the same thing, it just cost more. i do like that mine folds flat and has pockets on the sides for the lights, though.

I haven't tried one yet but I think yours looks great and the edited photo turned out perfect!

This is why I love this site so very much! I had no idea what a lightbox even was or was for, but was curious when I saw it on this thread. I'm guessing now, its to use to take better pictures of your bows?
You and your dh did a great job making it and your korker is beautiful. Thank you for sharing so newbies to the bow world, like me, can learn these things! :)

I'm probably going to try to make another one here soon. Before we moved from Germany the lightbox was trashed. :( I didn't expect them to move a cardboard box.

I made one. To tell you the truth I don't really see a difference in just using plain old sunlight.

I like the lighbox because you don't have to wait for a good sunny day to use it. The majority of the time in Germany is rainy and/or overcast. If I can steal the card table from the computer room and move it to my craft room, I'll set my 'studio' up there :) Natural sunlight is good because you don't have to lug out or have extra equipment.

Wow I never knew lighting could have such a dramatic effect on something as simple as a bow! All my pictures come out dark and drabby, I think I'll give this a try.
