Do you all use E600 glue or a hot glue gun on projects? When I cover my alligator clips I always use hot glue, but was wondering if others found E600 or some other glue to work better??....

Hot glue is my preference unless E6000 is absolutely needed. The smell bothers me and it takes a while to dry.

I use a combo of fabritac and hot glue. I also E6000 for the harder to hold projects.

I mainly use hot glue. When I don't want to add so much bulk to a ribbon project I will use fabri-tac.

I use hot glue, but I use e6000 to glue bottlecaps or other embellishments.

Hot glue 99% of the time. And it has to be high temp hot glue, not low.

I use mostly hot glue. If I'm gluing on a rhinstone or something that a kid could choke on I use E6000.

I use hot glue for most things. I use E6000 for crystals or small non-fabric embellishments. I use a toothpick to apply the E6000 to embellishments, so I think it would be a pain to use it for lining clips.

I have tried a bit of every kind of glue around except for Super Glue. LOL I have used mainly E6000, but have started using Quick Grip made by the same company. I have also used hot glue as well. My question is this. I have had the worst luck with the hot glue. After time, on the end with the pinch, the ribbon is lifiting off. For my6 freebies which are booboos. I am not worried about those, because they can bring them back and I can reglue them. My concern is a craft show I am doing, and granted, clips are cheap to make and cheap for people to buy, should I be concerned about them lifting off after time goes by, or just not sweat it. I am thinking if people like my stuff, they will come back to buy more. E6000 and the Quick Grip gets so messy after awhile. I can handle the burned fingers, etc. But just curious if I am the only one having this problem or what is going on.

I use high temp hot glue as well. I've tried the E-6000 and it really does stink. I don't add embellishments so it is not a problem anyway.

hey, I'm pretty new to bow making, so I'm really sharing what I've read elsewhere and tried... but I've only had the bows for about a month, so I can't say how the hold up over time :-)

Anyway... I had someone suggest using terrifically tacky tape (I think that's what it's called... there's another similar brand out there too) But that is so easy I can't believe it! No mess at all and it seems to be sticking just fine! Now I've only used this for lining clips... I don't think it'd work as well to put a bow or embellishment on!

Other then that I use all the stuff already mentioned... but I have to go outside for the e6000, or my house stinks for the next day!

E6000 for everything. I'd rather overdo it than have something fall apart on me. lol.

I know what you mean. I use 3 different types of glue, hot, e6000 and a beacon glue. The hot i use for just aobut everything. the e6000 i use for glueing metal, and the beacon glue i use for my bottle caps, i ust glue buttons on the bottom of it them fix the buttom to the bow with hot glue. Hot glue does not work well on metal. An dif you want perfect clippies i recommend seala i am not sure if i spelled that right or thermo web is another brand of the same thing but i dont think it works as good.

I hate my hot glue gun that I just got. It will only squirt out in one shot and the glue is tinged yellow. I don't understand what is wrong with my gun. It is brand new and is the Surebonder. It stinks!

I use hot glue right now but it dries so fast and can get pretty bulky. Are there any tricks when you have to sew the middles with thread? I am having a hard time getting the needle through the part where I have hot glued it... is there any other way? Is the fabri-tac flexible? Thanks.

I use to use fabri tac but have found out recently that it dosent hold as well as i like.the fabri tac works well for sculptures u have a window of wiggle room before it sets up and such.i have been introduced to terrifically tacky tape it is awesome i can line a clip in like 5 seconds no problem. and my dog got ahold of one of the clips and she couldn't get the ribbon off it and shes a pit they can almost tear up anything lol. granted that clippie never made it to sell lol. would u like to buy a clip that has been dog drooled on lol:D

Terrifically tacky tape is not so terrific for me. At the beginning it is good. The same with Sealah tape and with the red super tape....all look great...now put it on display in a store for a month and go put the stuff up..it will be coming apart....certainly when you have put bows on the clips..also heat makes the sealah bubble

I was curious about the Terrically Tacky tape ... but now I am not so sure!?!? I mostly use hot glue and havent had any trouble with it so far. I use FabricTac when I am doing sculptured clippies because I usually do more than one at a time so I can glue them and they adhere while I am working on the next one. Besides the hot glue does set really fast. Anyway ... any more comments on the Terrifically TAcky!?!!? Sounds like it works up quickly but does it hold well over a period of time!?!??! :confused1:
