So I just rolled some ribbon onto the dowels. But my question is when do I spray with starch. And how do make the starch thing? I have starch but what do I do to it in order to spray them onto the krokers?

I don't make korkers often, but I spray them with hairspray once I roll them off the dowel and I spray them again when I'm finished making the bow.

I don't spray my korkers till after they have baked. I'd think the starch would discolor light ribbon while it was being baked, but I could be wrong.

I spray my ribbon with hair spray right before I bake them. Mine always hold really well and I have never had a problem with them uncurling.

I spray them after they come out of the oven also.

I dont starch any of my bows since my DD puts everything in her mouth still. I just bake at 275 for 25 min.

I just wrap the ribbon and bake it without anything else on it. They work out fine

I never spray mine either. Once that ribbon has conformed to the dowel it will not come uncurled at all. I have even washed mine in a lingerie bag after spilling root beer on them and they are fine

LOL at the big bang days! we used to refer to them as car ports because they looked like you could park a vehicle under there to keep it dry:girly:

Just becareful if you do spray first. Depending on the quality of ribbon it does tend to bleed. I have some of the hobby Lobby ribbon with with polka dots and the dots turn colors in the oven.

I spray mine after I make them. It helps them from not curling inside each other.
