What style were you doing? I have been getting really frustrated with the boutique fold lately. I made a near perfect bow for my daughter's birthday back in October and lately I just can't get it perfect. It is frustrating.

I've gotten to where I'm having issues with the boutique fold too. I mastered the twisted and have issues with the plain boutique.

Just step away from it for a week or so. Come back to it with a fresh attitude and keep trying. I felt like giving up many times when I first started. I wanted to be good at it right away! It just takes time, patience, and practice. If you can invest those things in it, you will be so glad in the end that you didn't give up!

dont worry, all you need is patience. Sometimes we all go thru the bad phase.
Just take a break, concentrate on something else like headbands, clippies..comeback and try again.you will get it!hug

i get so annoyed with making bows also. it's really bad when i can get the perfect bow one time, but i can't get another one for anything. i usually stay away from them for a while, then go back about a day or two later.

I hate to think of how much ribbon I have wasted! And I cannot make two bows that match!

I know the feeling, I can't make a bow to save my life! I can make korkers with out a hitch, but bows....It's like asking me to write a novel with my toes! I agree...take a step a back do something else. Try again in a week or so and you'll be just fine!

I use about 35-40 2" korkers and then I trim the ones that stick out a lot. I also have a korker box that is very helpful :o. Just an idea of what they look like.

I stopped bowing for a bit to work on other stuff for my shows and now that I need to make them, I'm strugglin' with the boutique bow... I 've got the pinwheel down LOL! Trying to keep it simple... I'm hoping it comes back eventually LOL!

Don't give up. My bows were pretty stinky too. I was going to give up but decided to try the Brilliant Bowmaker templates and now my bows look 99% better! Still not perfect but that just takes practice with the templates. I think I might try the No Bow No Go templates next. Keep plugging away - you'll get it!!!

I found a pretty good formula that worked for me and I was able to pop out like 20 in about an hour. The only problem was that none of the loops were even! So now I am making stacked bows out of them so that it hides the unevenness. Those templates are really calling out to me...but I keep holding out that I can make them myself.
Hey girl all you need is practice and practice and practice and practice and remenber this is just for funsmil)

Question.. where do you get templates????
You can get them at http://www.nobownogo.com (http://www.nobownogo.com/) or at http://www.littlepinkladybug.com (http://www.littlepinkladybug.com/) I am still debating whether or not to just get them.

i didn't get either one of those--i made some free templates using the one from hair-hardware.com and it works great for me, but then again, i just bought the TOTTS from another forum member from Hip Girl and it looks like a good place to start for me

Adyer - where on hair hardware did you find the templates to make? I've been there and never noticed them.
