Most of you know how to edit images using picasa.
But this tutorial will teach u how to resize multiple images at once.

Why Resizing?

Photos taken thru digital cameras are too large for websites. It will take time to download and sometimes big images crashes the browser. Its always recommended to resize images when uploading to your pages. There are many photo editors to resize but using picasa you can edit multiple images at once and the resoultion stays the
same.

First open the picasa

Select the images to be resized. For forums i use 500 px and websites 800 px.

Click on "file" -- "export picture to folder"

Type name of the folder, anything you want to recognize the folder, mine is named "example".
Choose the pixels to edit. I am setting it into 500. And the image quality shd be selected to automatic. Also keep an eye on the designation where it will be stored..(mine is under my documents)Then click OK

You can see that pictures are getting exported.

Once saved, the folder will open itself and you can start uploading pictures to your website.
For those who dont know what is picasa? It is a free software sponsored by google. This is their link

I hadn't d/l'd Picasa after our last 2 reformats... I forgot how much I love it. I didn't know it had bulk resizing, though. That'll be a saver! Thank you!

Is this a program you buy or is it free? Can you do bottlecap images?

Thanks, Vanitha.

I have been using Picasa to edit and add watermarks, but another program to re-size. I will definitely try this.

I have used Picasa but had no idea you could do that. Thanks so much. Now I have to go see what a watermark is. :)
