Hi Everyone,
I made this this morning to match dd's fav dress. The pictures didn't come out great but the colors are red, yellow, green, navy, pink and light blue. The ends didn't come out too great b/c I cut my ribbon too short, lol. What do you think?:)

I think it matches great! I can never get my ends to look good even if I cut the ribbon the correct length LOL!

I haven't tried the woven headbands either, but yours looks great. Just practice a little more. At least you can't see the inside and it's for your DD ... :)

So pretty! Did you buy the instructions for the 6 color weave? I've got the 4 colors down, but haven't ventured out past that.
GREAT JOB!:)

I did buy the instructions, I never would have been able to figure it out without them. My brain doesn't work that way!:001_tongue:

Sooo cute! (I want your dd's dress! lol.) Was the headband easy to make? I'm afraid of braiding (weaving) incorrectly... lol.

It was hard at first. The 4 ribbon weave is much easier. You can't just follow the directions though because then you'll be stuck using the same colors in the sample forever. Once you get it started you sort of have to turn the directions into words (kind of like left under, left back, right under, right back, repeat...). Does that make sense? Once you do that it is really easy!
Plus, if you get it wrong you just take it apart - there's no gluing involved (except at the beginning) . To get the glue off the headband, heat it with a lighter and scrap - trust me, that has happened to me a lot. Give it a try, you'll probably love it!

Vanitha (site owner) offers a tutorial on the 6 (and 8) color weave. Hers includes a video tutorial...how cool is that!

I think I bought mine from her! LOL! Video does nothing for me though, I need to read and see pictures at the same time, but I know a lot of people prefer video.

KEEP TRYING, I did and the results paid off. That is my 3rd attempt and while it is not perfect. I think it looks okay. The yucky parts will be hidden behind my dds ear s and hair, lol!
