bow with bottlecap and marabou

I'm having a hard time attaching my bottlecap on to the bow with marabou that I made. The bottom layer is grossgrain ribbon, then marabou and I wanted to put the bottle cap in the center. Do you ladies have any ideas of how I can attach that and keep it on?

Hot glue inside bottlecap, add a piece of ribbon, more glue, then button, then glue around bow. Hope that makes sense.
