I made a korker bow ( not on top of anther bow) just a full korker bow( 20 pcs.) and I used wired to hold it together.
HOw do you hide the wire? Thanks

I'm not sure. I stick each piece on a needle and sew it. Here's a tutorial:

I use method #3

I don't make korkers now, but the 2 or 3 I ever made I sewed as well.

I want to try my hand at korkers one day. I really like the tiny puff type ones. I think I like the method of stacking them on a needle and just pulling it thru when you have the amount you want.

I like the look of korkers too, but I'm too stingy with mine to ever make a whole bow out of just those. I know, I know, they aren't THAT expensive, but I guess I'm just cheap!

They are super easy to make and IMO so addicting, as is everything else LOL!

You must have a lot of patience or I have very little cause I hate how time consuming they are, lol. Since they are my least favorite style, I really didn't put much effort into them though.

I make little korkers and sew the middle of mine. When they get full enough the top couple of korker curls kind of curl over the middle, hiding the stitches. HTH!

i sew mine together. i was trying the whole layer them then tie em but i cant tell you how many times dh ended up laughing bc korker ribbon went flying across the kitchen. then i found a tut about sewing them and thats how ive done them ever since. i make the teeny tiny ones bc the big ones look funny on dd's head. she has a little more than peach fuzz lol.

I have tried making exactly one korker bow and its not even finished yet. I was trying to stack it on the table then tie string around them. It wasn't working. So I decided to put them on a needle. Looked great until I started sewing back thru it and the thread broke! Needless to say I haven't tried again. :banghead:

I used to sew mine but I am now making them for a dancewear and uniform shop and she orders in bulk. I use knitting nylon (the stuff our grandmothers would knit to cover wooden coat hangers).
I pile them up in a little box to keep them even and then tie together as tight as I can. I believe they look fluffier than sewing and take a lot less time.
I don't use anything to cover the nylon because when pulled tight enought you can't see it unless you really dig into the bow.
I use about 42 or so korker pieces and use 2 ends from the base of the bow to glue around the barrette clip to keep it on.

The first couple I ever made I tied off with wire, and my girls could every once in a while pull strands out. After that I started sewing, I just puff the curls to hide the thread. I use upholestry thread, instead of a normal sewing thread, it is much harder to break.

Years ago I sewed mine onto a french barrette four at a time until the barrette was full. Now I put them on a needle one at a time until its really full, then push the needle and thread though the who korker two full times. This has turned out the best for me to get them full and round. I use an alligater clip for korkers 3" and under and a 40mm french barrette for the larger ones.

I use wire on my korkers, too. I twist the wire on the bottom of the bow, clip the ends short and tuck them flat, then I take one more piece of korker and wrap it around the bottom so it ties on top (like a present). Put a dab of hot glue on top under the knot and pull tightly. It normally hides the wire on mine. HTH

What kind of wire do you use to tie around them? I keep picturing twisty ties for garbage bags, but I know that its wrong.

I sew mine then just stick a korker on top if there is any thread showing.

I'm so with you! I just now have made 2 korkers and have thought about all the other things I could have made with that ribbon. But I'm getting a lot of compliments for them.

I use the TRR tut too on #3. I try to make use the same thread as the very last ribbon I put on so it doesn't show when I finish it.

I also use a box for mine, but I tie mine off with a zip tie. The knuckle part, goes towards your clip or fench clip.

i've used wire, hand sewn, elastic along w/ grosgrain & i have found that i can really get a good hard tie w/ grosgrain--i use 1/8" and to me it's just looks so much fuller than sewing them--i know so many are worried about kids being able to pull them off when just tying, but i always add hot glue in inconspicuous places and it works the best for me--here's a photo of how mine look using grosgrain :)

I sew mine too. I used to tie them with ribbon but they would sometimes come out. Never tried wire. Sewing is so easy!!
